Check Modi keynote
MUMBAI, India — In one of the most audacious experiments in India ’s modern history, Prime Minister
Narendra Modi banned the two largest bills — of 500 rupees, or about $7.50, and 1,000 rupees — which account for about 86 percent of the currency in a country where 78 percent of financial transactions are done in cash.
Under the plan, people are allowed to
exchange the old bills for new ones of 500 and 2,000 rupees, but only at banks or post offices, where their exchanges will be monitored and anyone with a large amount of cash will have to explain its source. The changes, meant to combat corruption and tax avoidance, have thrown the country into chaos. Here are answers to a few basic questions about the changes.
Why did the government remove the bills from circulation?
The idea was to expose and penalize people holding huge amounts of cash they could not account for, primarily money on which taxes have not been paid. Most of the so-called black money is held in 500- and 1,000-rupee notes. Someone who goes to a bank or post office with more than 250,000 rupees in cash, or about $3,700, has to explain the source of the money to the tax authorities.
People who can explain how they earned the money and show that taxes were paid can keep it. But those without a good explanation will have to answer to the tax authorities.

PICTURES OF NEW CHINA SKY TRAIN
China's first new energy “sky train” runs trial operation in Chengdu
China follows Japan and Germany to be the third country in the world to develop such technology.
Located in Sichuan Province, Chengdu’s rugged landscape has given rise to the innovation of many different transport solutions. The sky train, which is attached to its rail on the top, finished its first test run in September and from Monday was officially put on trial.
Chief designer of the project, Zhai Wanming, estimated that the cost of the Sky Train would be between 12.5% and 20% of that of an underground metro line.
The speed of the sky train is up to 60 kilometers per hour, and can hold over 100 passengers in each of its two cabins. It is also powered by lithium batteries, a new energy resource.
They are also said to be cheaper and easier to build than underground metro systems.
Assuming a successful trial run, sky trains are expected to be rolled out in other sightseeing spots across China next year.

CONTE BRING NEW ERA TO CHELSEA TEAM
Conte "am very glad to see they are adapted to this method.
Antonio Conte has made clear his appreciation for the application shown by his squad in taking on a new and currently successful way of playing, but now he sees another challenge ahead.
Four league wins in a row earned the Italian October’s Manager of the Month award, and they were followed by another good result against Everton before international fixtures pressed the pause button on the domestic season, but now he must ensure the run of good form does not lead to the players relaxing their approach or dropping their guard.
‘We have been working these days to avoid this,’ Conte confirms.
‘We are working to find the right concentration and the right focus because on Sunday we know we will have a tough game against a strong team that drew with Arsenal and Manchester City.
‘I must be honest, there is this possibility that this right momentum will stop and we are working very hard to avoid this, and I am confident of finding the right way very quickly.’
The signs are good that the players are receptive to Conte’s methods and he does not fault them for taking some weeks to settle into the current groove.
‘For sure when you arrive in a new club and also in a new country, it is more difficult to bring your method, your idea, your philosophy and it be followed quickly, particularly if players are used to another philosophy, but I am pleased because from the start of the season I always saw the right work-rate, the right commitment from the players and it is normal that to understand the method, you need a bit of time, but now I am very glad to see they are adapted to this method.’
And that applies to whole team from the back to the front, including two players who are scoring regularly and attracting plenty of plaudits.
‘Diego Costa is a very good player and the same for Eden Hazard , and it is important for me and Diego’s team-mates to see him every game working a lot with and without the ball. He is an example for all. If he continues to score I am very happy but I am happier to see this commitment and this work rate in training and in the games. If all the players are able to think this way then we are a very good Team.

REAL MADRID 28TH MATCHES UNBEATING MAY END DUE TO PLAYERS INJURY
Zidane's comment ahead of city rival match
“We’re going into it in good shape and we’ve got players back following the international break”, added the coach.
n the day prior to the derby clash with Atlético, Zidane discussed his feelings with the media ahead of his team's visit to the Vicente Calderón: “We’re going into it in good shape and we’ve got players back following the international break. We've got a few problems, as can happen, but we're focused on what we have to do tomorrow. It's an important match, we haven’t had long to prepare for it but we’re ready. We know Atlético well and it'll be a very tough match”.
“We haven't won anything yet. We've done things well so far and we want to continue in this vein. This is a derby and it's a beautiful match for both teams, for the fans and for anyone who loves football. I want to see a good game of football, that's what everyone wants. We want to carry on doing a good job. We'll get a good night's sleep tonight and tomorrow we're going to see a great match”.
The system
“It doesn't matter whether Benzema plays or not. We can change the system but we always have one idea. We want to play, we know how difficult the game will be because we're up against a very good opponent but we're not going to change. You can make changes to players, because there will be some changes, but the plan to play good football won't change”.
Benzema
“Karim is in the squad. He's back with us and he's feeling better. I'm happy to have him back - he's ready to play from the start so we'll see tomorrow whether he'll be in the line-up or not”.
Morata's injury
“These things happen and I'm not going to blame anyone. We're not happy about the injury but it happens. We want him to be calm and focused on recovering and that's all. I said before the break I hoped we wouldn't get any problems. Then this happened and it's the way it is. The important thing is to get him back quickly”.
“I don't know what happened the other day, I'm not a doctor. Everyone there was a professional and they've done their best. Now we just have to be patient. He's frustrated, as am I and I believe the national team is as well”.
Casemiro and Kroos
“Casemiro still needs time. He's getting better every day and we'll have a look at him next week. We'll see tomorrow who is going to play instead of Kroos and Casemiro”.
Recent games with Atlético
“it's not an exam. We always analyse our opponents closely and try to frustrate them. We know they're familiar with us and it'll be a very difficult match for both teams. It's a great game to play in. A defeat always hurts but I'm not thinking about that game - only about what we have to do. We'll try and play a good match and do our best to win it”.
Ramos
“Sergio has trained well and we'll look at how we're going to play tomorrow. When I met him, he had more hair, and I did too. He's our captain and it's great to have him back with us. He's very important for the group, he's a good player and a good person. He's doing a fantastic job”.
THE DERBY IS ALWAYS SPECIAL AND WE HOPE IT'LL BE A GREAT MATCH.
“Tomorrow is another game. We know it's a 50-50 tie. From beginning to end, in every play, it's going to be a tough match. We're used to games being difficult but perhaps tomorrow it will be even more so”.
Isco
“He's good. I'm happy to see Isco playing like this. He's showing that he's a key player for the national team. I'm more interested in Real Madrid”.
The atmosphere at the Vicente Calderón
“It's a beautiful ground, with beautiful support. Real Madrid players are used to playing at all kinds of stadiums and in heated atmospheres. We are familiar with this ground and we know it's going to be a tough game. We're ready and I'm only interested in giving our all from the first minute until the last”.
Cristiano Ronaldo
“He's not anxious, it's just what he's like: happy and full of energy. His positivity is contagious in the group. I want him to be like that forever. What Lucas said hasn't bothered him, so we're fine”.
Luis Enrique's derby comments
“He's right. If we lose it's better for them. The other day when Atlético and Barcelona were playing, I thought the same. It's natural he'll think like that”.
Analysing Atlético
“They're a team that keeps improving every year. They've got a very good coach who has changed a lot since his arrival and he's doing a fantastic job. Everyone talks about how well they defend but it's not only that, it's much more, and that's evident in everything they do. It's a good game to play in”.
Predictions for the match
“I don't know, I can't answer that. I'm not a wizard. We have to play the match and we want to see a good one. We'll see what happens on the pitch”.
A special derby
“It's not only special for me, but the derby is special for every madridista. It might be the last one at the Calderón. It's special for both sets of fans. People speak about hate between fans and the teams, but seeing this derby is magnificent and I hope we get a beautiful game of football”.
“We have to forget the negative aspects, the hate, and have a good time. It's going to be an incredible match, we're ready to play well. I was able to experience it as a player, from within it and from the outside”.
Griezmann
“I'm glad he's back and ready to play. I never wish for a rival player to get injured. He's a key player for Atlético and I'm pleased he's recovered,

SPAIN FIGHT BACK AGAINST ENGLAND
Gareth Southgate secured the England job on a full-time basis but let a 2-0 lead slip in the final moments as Spain salvaged a 2-2 draw.
England took an early lead from the spot through Adam Lallana, and it was the least he deserved after his sumptuous through ball had split the Spanish defence.

New York City were beaten 7-0 on aggregate by Toronto FC in the MLS play-offs this month.
Frank Lampard 'loving life' in US
In an interview with Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker in October, Lampard said he was
keen to move into coaching.
Lampard said: "I have very much enjoyed my time, and I am very grateful to Have had the opportunity to play for such a great club and in such an incredible city.
"I leave with many great memories."
Lampard left Chelsea in 2014 as the club's record scorer with 211 goals.
He signed a deal with New York City in July 2014, before joining their sister club Manchester City on loan in August, a move which "outraged" New York City fans.
He scored eight goals during a loan spell that was extended to cover the 2014-15 season.
In May 2016, he was described as "the worst signing in MLS history" as injuries and his spell back in the Premier League restricted his appearances.
But he rediscovered his form for New York City, scoring 12 goals in 14 games, and the city celebrated "Frank Lampard Day" in September.

GARETH BALE AND HIS FIANCEE EMMA RHYS-JONES CAUGHT UP IN DRUGS WAR
Gareth Bale and his fiancée Emma Rhys-Jones have had to step up security measures after her aunt was arrested on suspicion of money laundering.
According to The Sun, Annabella Williams, 55, and a 50-year-old man were taken in for questioning yesterday before being released on police bail, following a raid on a home belonging to a member of Emily's family.
A bag stuffed with drugs, cash and watches worth £1million had been discovered, the newspaper reports, and it's thought the item could be at the centre of all the drama recently.
Back in September, Emma's elderly grandparents were forced out of their home after bricks were hurled through their windows, their front door was kicked in and their car was covered in petrol and set alight.
It was believed the bag carrying the contraband was inside the grandparents' house shortly before the arson attack, and The Sun reports that a Middle Eastern drugs gang were looking out for it.
"Emma and Gareth will both be quite shocked by this and the arrests have come out of the blue," a source told the newspaper.
"Everyone is a bit worried because the gang behind this might be even more angry now, and people fear there could be worse to come.
"Drugs gangs tend to like to mete out their own justice, rather than leave things to the police."
A South Wales Police spokesperson confirmed the arrests, saying: "On Friday November 11th police officers arrested a 55-year-old woman from the Flint area and a 50-year-old man from the Pontypridd area on suspicion of money laundering offences.
"The man has been released on police bail pending further investigation.
"The woman remains in custody at Queens Road Police Station in Bridgend."
Gareth and Emma have been dating for several years since meeting at school, and have two children together – Alba Violet, who's four, and Nava Valentine, eight months.
In July this year, shortly after his 27th birthday, Gareth proposed to Emma.
She said yes!! This is a birthday weekend I won't forget for a long time

MANE CAN NOT SAVE SENEGAL FROM DEFEATED
Sadio Mane played the full 90 minutes as Senegal were defeated 2-1 by South Africa in World Cup qualifying this afternoon.
The Liverpool forward had a hand in his country’s goal, which came courtesy of Cheikh N’Doye 14 minutes from time, but South Africa clung on to an advantage earned by first-half strikes from Thulani Hlatshwayo and Thulani Serero to claim the three points in Polokwane.
Mane had the game’s first attempt on goal when he headed Balde Diao Keita’s free-kick over in the ninth minute, before the Reds man linked up well with Moussa Konate down the right, only for his teammate to shoot straight at home goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune.
A controversial penalty decision allowed South Africa skipper Hlatshwayo to give his side the lead from the spot shortly before half-time, and the hosts went in at the break 2-0 up thanks to Serero’s smart finish.
Senegal spurned several presentable opportunities in the second half before N’Doye blasted home from close range after Mane had miscued an overhead kick.
Mane and co then pushed hard for a late equaliser, but South Africa held firm.

FRANCE AND SWEDEN OBSERVED A MINUTES SILENCE AT THE STADE DE FRANCE
France and Sweden observed a minute's silence prior to their World Cup qualifier this evening, two days before the first anniversary of the Paris terror attacks.
Seven perpetrators from terror group ISIS claimed the lives of 130 civilians in the atrocities which shocked the world 12 months ago.
France were taking on Germany on the evening of the attacks, with explosions in the city being clearly heard during the match.
Fans and players were kept inside the ground as a safety measure following the final whistle, with players from both sides staying the night.
Paul Pogba and Dimitri Payet were on target as France marked the first anniversary of the Paris attacks with victory over Sweden in a World Cup qualifier at Stade de France.
A minute's silence was observed before kick-off to remember the 130 victims of the attacks on 13 November 2015.
Emil Forsberg scored for Sweden early in the second half but Manchester United's Pogba quickly equalised.
Payet's 65th-minute winner secure three points for France.
ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI ESCAPE INJURY AFTER BEING HIT BY A SMOKE GRENADE
The Bayern star did return to the field of play however and scored twice late in the day to seal victory for Poland, with two goals.

And hooligans from both sets of supporters also found one another during the first half, leading to fighting in the stands.
Poland had taken a first-half lead thanks to Rennes winger Kamil Grosicki, who fired high into the roof of the net from an inside right position.
Lewandowski then stepped in to secure the result late on, netting a second eight minutes from time with a cool finish, before adding an injury time penalty.
